Our Wedding

Monica and Tim met on a sunny day at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California, in February 2021. Tim walked up in his teal blue suede jacket and soccer cleats, sweaty from a day out on the community soccer field with their mutual friend, Corey. Immediately upon arriving, he startled the group by stepping on Monica’s dog Polly’s toe. She let out a shrill yelp, alerting the group —&nbsp;along with everyone else within a 500-foot radius —&nbsp;of his presence. Blushing, he apologized to Monica, and she laughed it off and welcomed him to sit down next to her, undoubtedly making a comment about his choice of jacket/Nike workout short combo.&nbsp; Later that day, the group played Monopoly, and Monica and Tim were paired together. Monica insisted they figure out a way to cheat to increase their odds of standing a chance (every other team was sneaking bills from the bank throughout the game!). Tim refused. He wouldn’t allow his conscience to be compromised by this nefarious newcomer. Monica admired his integrity, but they were quickly eliminated from the game and forced to enjoy each other's company for the rest of the evening. Unbeknownst to Monica at the time, Tim’s admirable character would become one of her favorite things about him.&nbsp; Over the course of their relationship, Monica and Tim have traveled the world and deepened their love for each other along the way. They’ve traversed the hills of Tuscany by train, enjoyed delicious local cuisine along the coast of Cartagena, navigated a 30-year old RV through a herd of Yellowstone bison, and built a beautiful home and life together back in Oakland.

Friday, August 7th, 2026 | 5:30–7:30PM

Rivino Winery | 4001 Rivino Ranch Rd, Ukiah, CA 95482 The Welcome Party will take place at Rivino Winery. The party begins at 5:30pm and will conclude at 7:30pm. Light bites, wine, and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served. Since we're not serving dinner, we encourage you to book a dinner reservation in town before or after the event. Guests are asked to coordinate transportation to and from the Welcome Party. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft), taxi, and carpooling are recommended, as parking is limited at Rivino.

Saturday, August 8th, 2026 | 5:30PM

The Home of Trevor Thomas | Shuttle Pickup Details Below The Wedding Day will be hosted at the private home of Trevor Thomas, the bride’s uncle. The ceremony begins at 5:30pm, and will be followed by a cocktail hour, seated dinner, and dancing. All guests must use the wedding day shuttle service to arrive at the venue — Please see the Wedding Day Shuttle details in the section below.

Shuttle Pickup Point | Wyndham Garden Redwood Valley (101 Coyote Valley Blvd, Redwood Valley, CA) All transportation in and out of the venue has been pre-arranged by the couple, as there is no parking or rideshare access to the home. Pickup and drop off will take place via shuttle service at the Wyndham Garden Redwood Valley (101 Coyote Valley Blvd, Redwood Valley, CA). You will receive your departure time in advance. Please make arrangements to arrive on time, as we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals for transportation pickup. We appreciate your understanding.

Who's Invited

We’re so excited to celebrate this special weekend surrounded by our closest family and friends. Because our venue is at our family home, space is quite limited. For this reason, we’re keeping the celebration intimate and are unable to accommodate additional guests or children. The names of those invited are listed on your envelope. Thank you so much for understanding and respecting our wishes.

Travel Tips

The Town of Redwood Valley is located about 20 minutes north of the City of Ukiah, and about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco. For those flying in, we recommend flying into either San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or Oakland International Airport (OAK). You can rent a car from the airport and make the 2.5h drive north to Ukiah. ​

WHERE TO STAY

Wyndham Garden Redwood Valley

Hotel Room Block: We have a wedding room block at the Wyndham Garden Valley hotel – Please use the link above to book your stay within our wedding room block. Wedding day transportation will depart from &amp; arrive back to the Wyndham Garden Redwood Valley for all guests (101 Coyote Valley Blvd, Redwood Valley, CA). Alternate Stay Options: If you prefer alternate accommodations, there are several Airbnb &amp; hotel options in the Ukiah &amp; Redwood Valley area — All of which offer comfortable accommodations a short drive from the wedding day shuttle pickup point. If booking an Airbnb or VRBO, we encourage coordinating your stay with other guests. Wherever you choose to stay, all attendees should arrange their own transportation to and from the shuttle pickup point at the Wyndham Garden Redwood Valley on the Wedding Day.

Where to Stay

We’re kicking off the weekend with a Wine Country Welcome at a vineyard in Ukiah, CA. The theme is Western chic: think suede, lace, bolo ties, boots, and a touch of vintage flair. The vibe is an elevated ranch soirée, with a color palette inspired by warm neutrals, dusty roses, faded denim, and sun-soaked desert tones. The event will take place outdoors on grass and gravel with no indoor space, so dress for the summer heat and bring a light layer for sunset. We kindly ask guests to keep the look polished and tasteful, and to avoid shorts or anything too casual. If in doubt, lean into a classic cocktail look.

WEDDING DAY

Our wedding will take place at a private home overlooking the hills of Redwood Valley, a setting with warm Tuscan-inspired charm. The dress code is black tie. Formal attire is encouraged. For women, we recommend formal or floor-length dresses in natural, earthy tones that complement the surroundings, paired with heels or wedges. Block heels are especially great for the grass. For men, tuxedos or dark suits with ties are ideal. The entire evening will take place outdoors, so please plan for cooler temperatures after sunset and bring a layer. We’d love for guests to lean into timeless, elegant styles that feel harmonious with the setting, and to steer clear of white, cream, beige, light yellow, or bright neon shades.

Take a day trip to Vichy Springs Resort &amp; Spa. Vichy Springs offers the only naturally warm and carbonated “Vichy” mineral baths in North America.

Looking to get outside? Enjoy a day hike around Lake Mendocino. You can pack lunch, find a nice place to sit, and hunker down in the shade to enjoy the view. Note that Ukiah gets hot in August. Plan ahead and bring lots of water and sunscreen.

Marvel at the beautiful redwoods at Montgomery Woods State Natural Reserve. Just a brief drive from downtown Ukiah, if you enjoy the beauty of the natural woods, you won't want to miss this experience.
